Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a contract position based in Oakland, CA. This role involves performing complex data analysis, developing reports, and providing recommendations to drive business strategy and operations. The assignment is hybrid, requiring 1-3 days per week on-site in Oakland, with potential needs at other sites like Dublin or San Ramon. The contract is expected to last until December 31, 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of intricate data models to generate customized reports and insights.
- Develop and refine data analysis techniques to forecast business outcomes by evaluating various complex variables.
- Create and utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to formulate strategic and operational recommendations.
- Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Manage projects of small to medium scale.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project and Visio.
- Expertise in Microsoft Power BI, Power Platform, and data visualization development.
- Experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries and working with large-scale data platforms like Snowflake.
- Strong understanding of analytical methods, approaches, and tactics.
- Advanced comprehension of fundamental analysis and what-if modeling concepts, including how various factors influence business results.
- Creative problem-solving abilities to devise effective solutions.
- Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative analysis to support business changes.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of conveying findings to management at all levels.
- Familiarity with key drivers impacting business performance.
- Solid project management knowledge and skills to lead project teams effectively.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and multitasking capabilities.
- Adaptability to evolving business conditions and ambiguity.
Desired Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a graduate degree.
- Experience within the utilities sector or operations.
- Experience with data modeling software.
Additional Information
Candidates must currently reside in the Bay Area or near the Oakland work location. The primary work location is Oakland, CA, but travel to other sites within the service territory may be necessary.
