About the opportunity
Deloitte is inviting an experienced Senior Auditor to join its Audit team in Hamilton, Waikato. This role sits within the Audit, Assurance and Reporting Advisory practice and offers the chance to work with a broad client portfolio across corporate, private, and public sector organisations throughout New Zealand.
The firm is looking for someone with at least 3 years of hands-on experience delivering audit and assurance services in a Chartered Accounting setting. A professional accounting qualification such as CA, or an equivalent credential, is expected.
You will gain exposure to major businesses and enterprises in the region, with the opportunity to contribute to projects that may also have national reach. Key responsibilities
The position involves supporting audit engagements and contributing to high-quality client outcomes through analysis, advice, and clear communication.
- Review findings and help shape advice or practical recommendations for clients.
- Assess and refine written outputs such as reports, memoranda, and similar deliverables.
- Use analytical judgement to solve problems and suggest actions that support client business strategy.
- Apply understanding of audit and risk advisory matters to address complex stakeholder needs.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other teams through effective communication.
- Deliver a high level of client service while collaborating across teams, service lines, and geographies.
Required qualifications and experience
- At least 3 years of audit experience in a corporate Chartered Accounting environment.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and the international/NZ accounting standards framework.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability, together with solid Excel skills.
- Good project management capability.
- Ability to work independently as well as contribute effectively in a team.
- Well-developed research and problem-solving skills.
