Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Safety Professional position at Meramandali TATA STEEL LIMITED. The role focuses on keeping daily site activities aligned with health, safety, and environment requirements, as well as internal company procedures. The selected candidate will actively support safe execution of work, help reduce risk exposure, and work closely with operations and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Professional will monitor safety standards across the site, carry out inspections, flag unsafe conditions, and suggest preventive and corrective measures. The role also includes organizing safety briefings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and awareness drives for both employees and contractors. In addition, the professional will assist with incident and accident investigations, preserve safety documentation and reports, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is built into planning and day-to-day execution.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a strong grasp of health and safety concepts, standards, and rules used in industrial and construction settings. Experience in EHS activities is important, especially in risk assessment, hazard spotting, and applying control measures. Familiarity with occupational health practices, safe work behavior, and workplace condition monitoring is also needed. The role requires the ability to create and conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training programs for different worker groups.

Candidates should also have practical experience in accident investigation, root cause analysis, and preparing corrective and preventive action plans. A relevant technical or safety-oriented diploma or degree, such as engineering, occupational safety, or industrial safety, is preferred, along with recognized safety certifications like NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar. Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to prepare accurate reports and documentation, are important. Prior exposure to industrial, construction, or maintenance environments is valuable, and experience in bulk material handling or heavy industry will be considered an advantage. The role requires working on-site in Kaniha, cooperating with multiple teams, and responding quickly to emergencies or changing site situations.
