Role Overview
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing everyday outlet activity and ensuring guests consistently receive a high level of service. This position works closely with the Outlet Manager to keep restaurant and bar operations running smoothly while supporting the team’s performance, development, and service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day outlet activities and make sure guest service remains consistently excellent.
- Guide, encourage, and develop team members to build a productive and positive workplace.
- Support the Outlet Manager in running restaurant and bar operations effectively.
- Track staff performance, offer coaching, and provide hands-on training when needed.
- Respond to guest questions, concerns, and special requests in a prompt and professional manner.
- Ensure all service practices follow company standards, internal policies, and health and safety rules.
- Arrange shift rosters, work assignments, and meal breaks based on business requirements.
- Work closely with the kitchen, bar, and other hotel departments to maintain smooth coordination.
- Keep the outlet clean, well presented, properly stocked, and ensure equipment is maintained.
- Confirm that food and beverage items are delivered and served according to quality expectations.
- Coach team members on menu details, beverage selection, service steps, and guest interaction.
- Help control labour costs by supporting staffing plans and scheduling.
- Look for sales opportunities by promoting the hotel’s facilities, food, and beverage offerings.
- Maintain accurate records related to operations, attendance, and departmental documentation.
- Support financial performance through cost control, team efficiency, and strong guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting.
- Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel is an added advantage.
- Strong ability to lead teams and help staff grow and perform well.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with good problem-solving ability.
- Solid understanding of food and beverage service, standards, and guest relations.
- Experience with staff scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Comfortable using POS systems and standard restaurant procedures.
- Able to manage pressure, work in a busy environment, and juggle multiple priorities.
