Role overview
This freelance assignment offers the chance to help define the visual identity of a new consumer cleaning brand preparing to launch in the US market. The focus is on improving the packaging for the flagship product so it looks strong on shelf, communicates clearly, and is ready for production.
You’ll work with founders who already have the brand direction and early mockups in place, then refine the design into polished packaging files that meet print and manufacturing standards. Because the brand is a startup, the role calls for someone comfortable working quickly, taking feedback well, and contributing practical design input as needed. There may also be room for continued collaboration as the brand expands.
Key deliverables
- Upgrade and polish existing packaging concepts and mockups for a consumer packaged goods cleaning product
- Strengthen typography, spacing, layout, and visual balance to improve shelf presence
- Produce print-ready files that are suitable for label production and manufacturing
- Make sure all artwork meets the technical demands of bottle packaging and larger production runs
- Work iteratively with the founders to incorporate feedback and stay aligned with the brand direction
- Advise on materials, finishes, and print setup where support is needed
Requirements
- Demonstrated background in packaging design for consumer-facing brands, ideally within CPG or cleaning products
- A portfolio that includes print, label, or packaging work
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Good understanding of print workflows and how to prepare files for production
- Strong visual judgment in typography, colour, and layout
- Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines
- Clear communication style and a collaborative approach to feedback
- Availability to begin right away, with scope for additional work later
