Role overview
This position is for a Registered Nurse who will deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to medically ill patients before and after surgery. The role calls for the use of professional nursing knowledge, clinical judgment, and established HMG policies to ensure each patient receives timely multidisciplinary care.
Key responsibilities
- Take charge of the patients allocated during the daily assignment.
- Follow the approved nursing care process for every assigned patient.
- Build an individualized care plan in coordination with the wider care team.
- Track patient condition closely and escalate any unusual or abnormal findings to the team leader and on-duty doctor within the required timeframe.
- Complete physicians’ orders accurately and without delay.
- Educate patients and families according to their specific needs.
- Record assessment results, patient reactions to nursing interventions, and overall progress in the chart.
- Act promptly in emergencies and carry out resuscitation measures when required.
- Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Keep the required unit-specific competency up to date according to the approved competency matrix.
- Remain adaptable to operational needs, including floating or pull-out assignments when needed.
- Work in line with JCIA and CBAHI standards, along with HMG policies and procedures.
- Offer clinical guidance and shift support when assigned as shift in charge or team leader so patients continue to receive the care they need.
- Make rounds in patient care areas.
- Report any unusual incidents to nursing supervision.
- Join physician rounds.
- Take part in patient status handover and presentation sessions.
- Attend department education and training sessions.
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Carry out nursing procedures required in the unit.
- Contribute to person-centered care initiatives led by HMG.
- Help improve the patient experience through compassion, respect, and dignity.
- Perform other duties assigned by the charge nurse or head nurse, within the scope of your knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an equivalent qualification is required.
- A 3-year General Nursing Diploma is also accepted.
- At least 1 year of experience in a relevant inpatient setting is needed.
- BLS certification, or an equivalent relevant certification, is required.
- A valid Saudi Council license and a license/certification from the country of origin are required.
