Role Overview
The Records Keeper position supports dining facility operations at the Roy M. Wheat Galley Dining Facility in NAS Meridian, Mississippi. This role focuses on financial accountability, record maintenance, and accurate transaction tracking for the general mess. Work is scheduled across Monday through Sunday.
Key Responsibilities
- Request store items and record daily activity in line with NAVSUP P-486 procedures.
- Keep financial documentation precise and up to date so all required reports, records, and returns can be completed.
- Enter subsistence item receipts no later than three business days after receipt.
- Oversee financial management and accountability functions for the general mess.
- Update the General Mess Control Record (NAVSUP Form 338) within two current working days.
- Use and assist with web-based reporting and accounting tools.
Qualifications
- At least seven years of accounting experience is required.
- Applicants must have either two years of experience in the Food Service Management Program (FSM) or successful completion of an approved FSM course.
- Computer proficiency is necessary, especially for operating and supporting web-based reporting systems.
Work Schedule
The role operates Monday through Sunday.
