Overview
A general contractor is looking to add a Project Manager in Austin, TX to lead construction work from the earliest planning stages all the way through final closeout. This position is centered on owning project delivery, including budget control, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and regular communication with clients. The company is seeking someone who enjoys responsibility, solving problems, and staying involved throughout every phase of a build.
Responsibilities
- Oversee construction projects from preconstruction to closeout, with responsibility for safety, schedule adherence, and budget performance.
- Promote and uphold site safety and quality expectations, including participation in site walkthroughs and inspections.
- Direct day-to-day project activity, address field challenges, and keep work aligned with plans, specifications, and client goals.
- Support estimating efforts, quantity takeoffs, proposal preparation, and subcontractor bid review, along with buyout and contract administration tasks.
- Track budgets, forecasts, change orders, vendor invoices, and owner billing.
- Assist with permits and help ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and contract obligations.
- Keep project records current, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and closeout files.
- Work closely with superintendents and field personnel to keep projects moving smoothly.
- Join OAC, subcontractor, and internal meetings to monitor progress and keep stakeholders aligned.
- Develop strong working relationships with clients, design professionals, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4 to 8+ years of experience in construction project management.
- Background supporting or managing projects from preconstruction through completion.
- Strong skills in organization, communication, and problem-solving.
- Comfort using construction software such as Procore and Microsoft Office.
