Position Summary
This role is for a Production Designer based in New York, working closely with directors and the wider agency team to produce polished, high-quality design assets. The position is primarily hands-on and execution-focused: you will take direction from senior creatives and turn concepts into final, production-ready work. Accuracy, consistency, and strong quality control are central to the job. It is well suited to a designer at an early stage in their career, with around two years of experience, who has worked with established brands and wants to develop further inside a top-tier creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce design assets for client-facing and internal projects, following guidance from Creative Directors and Design Directors.
- Refresh, revise, and resize existing creative materials for different platforms, formats, and applications.
- Finalize files for handoff, making sure they are accurate, high-quality, and correctly formatted to spec.
- Convert creative ideas into production-ready outputs without losing the original design intent.
- Apply brand rules, visual systems, and guidelines consistently across all deliverables.
- Handle several requests at once in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Keep files, folders, and workflows well organized for smooth delivery and archiving.
- Work with designers, directors, and other teams to support ongoing project needs.
- Help maintain a high standard of consistency and craft across all outputs.
Experience and Education
The role is intended for someone with roughly 2 years of professional design experience, ideally gained in an agency, brand, or studio setting. Prior exposure to large brands or structured brand systems is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related discipline is expected, although equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Solid command of layout, typography, and production standards.
- Comfort working within established brand frameworks and visual guidelines.
- Ability to take creative direction and execute work with precision and care.
- Excellent organization and multitasking ability.
- Experience preparing assets for print, digital, and social channels.
- Exposure to digital tools and AI-based workflows is an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. The role is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. Compensation is provided in line with New York City salary transparency requirements and may be adjusted based on factors such as experience, time in role, business sector, and location.
