Role overview
This role is centered on improving ecommerce recommendation systems for a large-scale platform. You will develop a deep understanding of recommendation products across user scenarios, business impact, technical possibilities, and overall recommendation direction. The position focuses on shaping recommendation strategy to support platform growth while improving the user experience.
What you'll do
- Build a strong understanding of recommendation products, including how they are used by customers, what business value they create, what can be implemented technically, and how the overall recommendation strategy should evolve.
- Own the product management work for recommendation algorithms, with the goal of improving recommendation strategy for platform growth and better user experiences.
- Lead efforts to create advanced machine learning-based approaches for product recall, ranking, and feature optimization.
- Plan and run experiments to refine both new and existing product features.
- Analyze customer behavior and feature performance using data, and use those insights to estimate impact and decide what should be prioritized.
- Work closely with teams across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and Operations to turn ideas into shipped solutions.
- Take an active role in roadmap planning and prioritization for major R&D workstreams.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Strategy, or Consulting is expected. Experience with recommendation systems or a top-tier technology company is considered an advantage.
- You should have strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning, along with sound logical and critical thinking skills.
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Engineering, or another applied quantitative discipline is required; an MBA is a plus.
- You must be highly data-driven, self-motivated, and able to take strong ownership of your work.
