About the company
Centah is a SaaS platform that supports home improvement businesses with lead capture, routing, and conversion through a configurable system placed at the heart of daily operations. The company is in an important growth phase, moving from custom solutions for a limited set of large customers to a broader, scalable software product. This is not a maintenance-only role; it is an opportunity to help define what the platform becomes next.
The environment is practical, collaborative, and high impact. You will have real ownership, visible influence across teams, and the chance to see your decisions affect the business directly.
About the role
Financeit is hiring a Product Designer for Centah who is excited about making products easier to use and more effective. The role focuses on building clear, useful, and engaging experiences for a wide range of users, from early ideas and sketches through testing and final release. The right person enjoys explaining design decisions, sharing work openly, and shaping solutions with a strong user-centered mindset.
Reporting to the Director of Product and working closely with product and engineering teams, you will bring empathy, strong visual judgment, and research-driven thinking to help create a polished platform experience. Your work will help make thoughtful, efficient design a key part of the product’s reputation.
Key responsibilities
- Take part in all phases of the product lifecycle by collaborating with the team to explore ideas, develop solutions, design flows, and stay on track with deadlines.
- Manage the core component libraries and help advance the Centah design system by defining, designing, documenting, and maintaining advanced UI components to a high standard of quality and usability.
- Set a strong bar for visual quality so everything from simple controls to complex tables is refined, accessible, and consistent with the brand.
- Use curiosity about user behavior together with both qualitative and quantitative research to guide product and design choices.
- Partner with product stakeholders to refine needs, conduct user interviews, and run internal feedback sessions to uncover usability improvements.
- Work with developers to confirm technical feasibility, incorporate feedback from different groups, and make necessary trade-offs to deliver strong results on schedule.
- Help reduce UX debt by understanding complicated information architecture and system mapping.
- Turn input from multiple sources into clear, elegant, and concise design solutions.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio demonstrating the full design process, from research and early exploration through high-fidelity responsive work.
- Advanced working knowledge of modern Figma practices, including Auto-layout, Components, Variants, and Properties, with the ability to build usable libraries for other designers.
- Strong organization in both task prioritization and Figma file structure.
- Excellent visual design ability with a strong sense of typography, layout, and hierarchy, along with close attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills that make it easy for cross-functional teams to understand the reasoning behind design decisions.
- A proactive mindset that can spot system gaps and suggest improvements independently.
- A practical understanding of how designs are built in code, including HTML, CSS, React, and mobile contexts, plus the ability to discuss constraints and trade-offs with developers.
Benefits
- An inclusive, collaborative workplace culture recognized among Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures for two years in a row.
- Competitive compensation with a performance-based bonus.
- Annual bonus of 20%.
- Hybrid work arrangement with flexible options.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a Lifestyle Account.
- RRSP matching and a parental leave top-up program.
- In-office massage and workout sessions.
- Virtual events such as Lunch & Learns, company celebrations, team activities, and charity initiatives.
- Career learning and development opportunities.
