This opportunity is open to remote candidates based in Canada, but only in provinces where the company is legally able to hire.
The contract runs from July 2026 through November 2027.
What you will do
- Coordinate and oversee purchasing activity across the business, including sensitive or business-critical engagements, while acting as the main connection point between internal teams such as Finance, IT, Legal, Privacy, and the supply chain.
- Lead negotiations for complex contracts and commercial agreements, especially within the software and SaaS space, while balancing cost, risk, delivery expectations, and long-term value.
- Advise employees at all levels, including senior leaders, on buying priorities, technology decisions, and negotiation approach.
- Create, refine, and roll out procurement processes that improve efficiency, ensure compliance, and generate savings.
- Develop and review systems that generate data-based insights into company spending, then use those insights to continuously improve execution and processes.
- Manage and optimize the company’s combined software budget with a focus on value, accountability, and efficiency.
- Partner with Finance and other stakeholders to improve the intake-to-pay process.
What we are looking for
- At least 8 years of procurement or purchasing experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of SaaS procurement experience, along with comfort handling hardware procurement.
- Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, finance, or a related discipline; certifications such as CSCP, SCMP, or similar supply chain credentials are an advantage.
- A strong record of delivering results and maintaining high performance.
- Excellent negotiation ability with the confidence to influence stakeholders, resolve disputes, and secure balanced vendor outcomes.
- A customer-first mindset with a clear intent to support internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to prioritize effectively and focus time and energy on the most important issues.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills for choosing the best solution among competing options.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with active listening and the ability to ask clarifying questions.
- Strong process and project management capability, including planning work and managing timelines to completion.
Who you are
- You take initiative, enjoy solving new problems, and move work forward without needing to be prompted.
- You learn continuously, experiment thoughtfully, apply feedback, and share useful learnings with others.
- You handle change with composure and look for opportunities within challenges.
- You collaborate well across functions and help information flow smoothly across the organization.
- You are comfortable asking tough questions when needed to reach the best outcome.
- You communicate proactively, clearly, and inclusively.
- You think beyond your own responsibilities and connect your work to wider business goals.
- You hold yourself accountable and can be relied on to deliver strong outcomes.
- You go beyond expectations to help the team succeed.
