Role overview
This position sits within the Professional Services team and can be based anywhere in New Zealand or Australia. The successful candidate will take a leading role in customer-facing technical work across Azure cloud and DevOps engagements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical client engagements end to end, including Azure assessments, solution design, delivery, and implementation.
- Create, advise on, and deliver cloud solutions using Azure, Terraform, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices to meet customer needs around automation, scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Use LAB3’s proprietary products where appropriate to improve efficiency and delivery outcomes.
- Build proof-of-concept prototypes to validate solution feasibility and show customers how the technology can be applied.
- Facilitate workshops and support cloud adoption activities with clients when needed.
- Analyse information, draw conclusions, prepare cost estimates, and present findings and recommendations to clients.
- Contribute to recruitment by taking part in hiring and interview activities for new LAB3 team members.
- Provide hands-on technical delivery, including automation and optimisation, within project and program timelines.
- Help shape governance, process, and documentation standards across the practice.
Candidate profile
The ideal person brings deep experience across Azure cloud and DevOps solution design, architecture, consulting, and practical delivery. Strong knowledge of Azure technologies, Terraform, cloud integration, infrastructure as code, scripting, automation, ARM, and preferably AKS is important. Prior experience in consulting roles handling external stakeholders in Microsoft, cloud, or automation-focused organisations is also valued.
Experience with Azure Local is considered highly desirable. The role suits someone who is committed to continual learning, upskilling, and developing others through coaching and mentoring. Applicants must be residents of Australia or New Zealand and hold full working rights in one of those countries.
