Planner Scheduler - Assembly

About the role

INNIO Waukesha is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Production Planner to own and improve the assembly production schedule. This position partners with the Assembly Master Planner, operations, manufacturing engineering, and other internal teams to keep production moving smoothly, reduce supply chain risk, and respond quickly to shortages, delays, and process bottlenecks.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and maintain the production schedule using available capacity while balancing changing customer demands.
• Monitor work closely enough to spot short-term and long-term shortages early and escalate them when needed.
• Create, update, and review reports that support clear communication across the organization.
• Work with operations and manufacturing engineering to keep ERP scheduling data accurate, especially scheduled dates.
• Serve as a main contact for internal stakeholders and help coordinate communication to support business priorities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, lower fulfillment risk, and increase production efficiency.
• Operate with limited supervision and contribute as an effective team member in resolving issues and meeting production goals.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of direct experience in production planning or scheduling.
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in supply chain or a related discipline, or 3+ years of equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience using ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong ability to identify problems early, analyze information, and apply practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills across functions and organizational levels.
• Experience working with cross-functional groups and improving processes.
• Comfort working under pressure while handling competing priorities.

Preferred skills and experience

• Background in engine production scheduling, manufacturing, or a closely related environment.
• Working knowledge of material management and logistics coordination.
• Ability to handle substitutions and workarounds within production planning.
• Ownership mindset with a collaborative, results-driven approach.
• Capacity to lead change, motivate others, and perform well in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong organizational ability to manage tasks, risks, milestones, resources, and deliverables through frequent change.
• Comfort managing multiple projects and moderate-scope initiatives at the same time.
• Analytical thinking with the ability to identify root causes and develop efficient fixes.
• Strong customer service orientation with close attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively against tight deadlines.

Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $75,000 and $90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
