What you will do

• Accept and process payments from patients and insurance providers while following established procedures.
• Confirm key payment information such as patient details, insurance data, payment value, and payment method.
• Record payments accurately and without delay in billing software or electronic health record systems.
• Match and balance payment batches, then flag any mismatches or mistakes that need correction.
• Review and fix posting problems, including rejected transactions and overpayments.
• Prepare bank deposits, reconcile them, and keep the supporting paperwork aligned with internal controls.
• Keep detailed and reliable records of all payment activity and posting actions.
• Track posting performance, including productivity and accuracy measures, and report on them.
• Work with internal teams to resolve posting issues and help improve the process.
• Stay informed about changes in payment rules, industry practices, and billing system updates.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience using billing platforms, EHR systems, and payment processing tools is needed.
• You should understand healthcare billing workflows, including insurance payments, EOBs, and remittance advice.
• Strong accuracy and organizational ability are necessary to handle several tasks at once and meet deadlines.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills are required to resolve posting differences and related issues.
• You must be able to communicate clearly and coordinate effectively with internal teams.
• The role calls for the ability to work independently and perform well in a busy, fast-moving setting.
• Confidentiality is essential, along with compliance with HIPAA requirements.

This is a full-time onsite role based in Kampala, Central Region, Uganda.
