Role Overview
The Patient Appointment Coordinator in Glendale, CA 91202 is responsible for keeping patient scheduling accurate and organized in the EMR system. The role includes identifying patients who qualify for Preventative Dental Evaluations, arranging appointments, sharing end-of-day updates, and communicating results to patients when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and confirm patient visits in the clinic’s EMR platform.
- Check daily schedules to find patients who meet Health Bridge criteria for Preventative Dental Evaluations.
- Work closely with in-office assistants and clinical staff so arrivals, schedule changes, and check-ins run smoothly.
- Track appointment activity across multiple schedules and maintain daily metrics.
- Prepare end-of-day summaries and activity reports for management.
- Act as the main contact for cancellations, rescheduling, and patient check-in coordination.
- Coordinate with clinical and dental teams on Preventative Dental Evaluation appointments and related needs.
- Share results with patients by phone, including translation support when required.
- Support doctor and assistant credentialing workflows.
- Keep patient demographics, appointment details, and interaction notes current and complete in the EMR.
- Handle additional administrative tasks that help the clinic operate efficiently.
Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills for working with patients, staff, and providers.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management across several schedules and priorities.
- Ability to spot scheduling issues quickly and respond with practical solutions in a busy setting.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
- Spanish fluency is required.
- Preferred: prior exposure to EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Dentrix, or Athena.
Compensation and Benefits
The position pays $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. Benefits include paid sick time, paid time off, paid training, and paid holidays.
