Part-Time Care Assistant

Role overview

Caremark St Helens is looking for part-time care assistants to support people living in their own homes across St Helens. The role involves delivering person-centred care that is shaped around each individual’s needs. No previous care experience is required, as full in-house training is provided.

• Providing personal care and day-to-day support.

Working pattern

This is a part-time, onsite role. You must be flexible enough to cover morning and lunch shifts as well as tea and bedtime visits. Weekend availability is required on an every-other-weekend basis.

Typical shifts are 7:00am to 2:00pm for morning and lunch calls, and 3:00pm to 11:00pm for tea and bedtime calls.

Pay and benefits

The hourly rate is £12.00 to £12.25, with the higher rate applying at weekends. Bank holiday enhancements are paid. Additional pay and benefits include mileage at 40p per mile, travel time paid at NMW, paid shadow shifts, pension scheme, referral scheme, carer of the month rewards, carer of the year rewards, and paid annual leave.

Training includes a thorough induction with a blend of classroom and online learning, plus opportunities to progress and continue developing your skills within a growing business. You will also be supported by a strong, friendly management team and an on-call manager when the office is closed.

Eligibility and conditions

You must be a driver, hold a valid UK driving licence, and have access to your own vehicle with business insurance. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as sponsorship for overseas workers is not available. Any offer of employment will depend on a satisfactory DBS check and two references.
