Operations Supervisor (Transmission & Distribution)

Role overview

This position oversees gas transmission and distribution activities across Central Master Control Stations (CMCS). The role includes monitoring the Pipeline Management System (PMS) and Metering System at CMCS/TDOC, controlling manifold and let-down stations, and making sure equipment and systems operate reliably. It also involves supervising SCADA and PMS maintenance, quickly escalating faults, and minimizing outages across pipelines and station monitoring. In addition, the supervisor coordinates gas flow through stations, associated pipelines, and local customer supply so that gas is delivered safely, efficiently, and with the best use of available resources.

Key responsibilities

The job requires establishing and promoting safe working methods across all areas while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The role carries significant operational responsibility because an incorrect decision may cause a consumer shutdown valued at several million per day, or a wider interruption in gas distribution with serious revenue impact and downstream effects on power and industrial customers. Affected customers and industries include QAPCO, QAFCO, QAFAC, QatarEnergy Refinery, QASCO, QEWC, QCHEM, Qatargas, RasGas, QGEWC, Al Khaleej, RGPC, MPCL, and Dolphin.

Experience

Candidates should bring 10 years of experience in the hydrocarbon processing industry, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Education

A B.Sc. degree is required, preferably in Chemical Engineering.

Skills

The position calls for strong leadership, the ability to motivate a team, solid interpersonal communication, practical problem-solving, forward planning, operational coordination, and knowledge of gas transmission and distribution systems.
