Descrizione del lavoro

Company overview

Outlast is building technology for a massive recyclables market that has historically lacked modern tools. The company helps suppliers and buyers complete transactions more easily while also supporting global logistics, financing, and quality control. Its broader mission is to improve customer experience and contribute to a greener planet by advancing recycling. Recycling one ton of material can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 7,000 miles of passenger-car driving. Backed by multiple funding rounds and major contracts, the company is positioned for significant expansion.

Role overview

In this Operations Specialist role, you will help manage the movement of large volumes of material across different markets. The position sits at the center of several teams and requires regular coordination with sales, product, engineering, logistics partners, and customers to create a smooth and reliable fulfillment process.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate order fulfillment so material moves correctly for both sales and purchase orders, with pickups and deliveries happening on time.
  • Arrange transportation resources such as trucks, containers, and freight for domestic and international shipments.
  • Prepare, review, and organize shipping documents with a high level of accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and other service providers to support dependable operations.
  • Monitor operational performance indicators, including pickup delays, and identify areas where processes can improve.
  • Identify shipment risks early and partner with the operations team to resolve issues before they escalate.
  • Contribute ideas that lower costs, improve speed, and increase efficiency as you gain deeper knowledge of the business.

What we’re looking for

  • A flexible, accountable professional who understands that logistics work requires follow-through from start to finish.
  • Someone highly detail-oriented who keeps tasks organized and avoids errors slipping through unnoticed.
  • An eager learner interested in freight operations and the logistics side of scrap metal and recyclables.
  • A direct communicator who is comfortable calling carriers or partners to solve problems quickly.
  • A person who can juggle several priorities at once while staying structured and calm.
  • A collaborative teammate who is coachable, curious, and willing to ask questions when needed.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and open to coaching, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in startups, logistics, and/or operations.
  • Basic familiarity with shipping paperwork and carrier coordination, or a willingness to learn these areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication along with solid organizational ability.
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
  • Bonus consideration for candidates familiar with scrap metal or recyclables logistics.

Core values

  • Have courage: take risks, challenge yourself, and own both wins and setbacks.
  • Scrap daily: stay grounded in the work, be ready to roll up your sleeves, and approach every task with pride.
  • Have no ceiling: keep improving personally and professionally every day.
  • Be accountable: hold yourself to the same standards you expect from others and lead by example.
  • Appreciative inquiry: listen carefully, show empathy, and work together to build better solutions.
  • Over our skis: stay alert, avoid complacency, and remain focused on customer satisfaction and competition.

Why join Outlast

Outlast’s mission is to make the recyclables supply chain more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally positive. The team brings together industry expertise and technology-driven thinking in a culture that values enthusiasm, collaboration, and open communication. The company aims to bring trust to a traditionally opaque market and deliver standout customer experiences. It is supported by leading venture capital funds and hedge funds and operates in a market with major growth potential.

Additional information

The company may use AI-based tools during hiring to help review applications, analyze resumes, assess responses, and flag possible inconsistencies or verification signals. These tools support the recruitment process but do not replace human review, and final hiring decisions are made by people. For details on how applicant data is processed, candidates may contact the company directly.

Compensation note

Salary depends on experience.
