Motor Winder

Role overview

The Motor Winder will be responsible for electrical component integration, supporting the design and fabrication of electrical products, and carrying out quality checks to maintain high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Work with a solid command of written and spoken English.
• Handle different motor types and their parts, including commutator, rocker, GNA, MNA, and DC motor armature.
• Diagnose and repair a wide range of motor sizes and types, including units up to 11500Kw and 13.8Kv.
• Perform winding and repair work on gensets, alternators, exciter stators, and rotors.
• Use hand tools and powered tools to dismantle and rebuild motors and generators.
• Record rewinding details, insulation types, and prepare material requests as needed.
• Test and troubleshoot motor problems using specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Follow electrical and mechanical safety practices at all times.
• Prepare inspection reports, service reports, and pre- and post-service test reports independently for both mechanical and electrical static testing.
• Operate winding machines, hand tools, cranes, and testing equipment efficiently.
• Pay close attention to technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.

Qualifications

An ITI or diploma in Electrical or a related discipline is preferred. The role also calls for strong problem-solving ability along with good technical, mathematics, and science skills, plus clear written and verbal communication.
