About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MEP Testing and Commissioning Engineer to oversee and coordinate all MEP system T&C activities at project sites. The primary goal is to ensure all systems function according to design specifications and project requirements. This role involves developing and implementing commissioning plans, collaborating with various teams and vendors, and managing documentation for service handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing and commissioning plans for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.
- Thoroughly review and interpret design drawings, technical submittals, and equipment manuals to define the commissioning scope.
- Liaise effectively with MEP execution teams, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), subcontractors, and consultants to facilitate progressive system testing.
- Verify that all systems adhere to performance standards, safety regulations, and client-specific requirements.
- Conduct training sessions and prepare Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation for facility management or client teams during the handover phase.
- Support client inspections, obtain necessary approvals, and meticulously prepare all required handover documentation.
Key Interactions
Internal Stakeholders
- Project & Execution Teams: To ensure alignment with construction schedules and site readiness for T&C activities.
- QA/QC & Safety Teams: To conduct compliance checks and safety audits throughout the commissioning process.
External Stakeholders
- OEMs, Subcontractors & Vendors: To manage testing protocols, equipment calibration, and necessary technical support.
- Clients & Consultants: To coordinate inspections, secure sign-offs, and obtain system approvals.
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- ITI, Diploma, or B.E./B.Tech degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of the local language is advantageous for site-level communication.
Experience Required
- A minimum of 3 to 10 years of professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in testing and commissioning of MEP systems, specifically within factory construction projects. This includes hands-on involvement in system validation, troubleshooting complex issues, and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
Technical and Behavioral Skills
Technical Skills
- Expertise in testing and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and ELV systems.
- Strong understanding of system functionality and interdependencies.
- Familiarity with calibration instruments and procedures.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques.
- Ability to review O&M manuals and test reports effectively.
- Competence in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and MS Project.
- Knowledge of commissioning planning, QA/QC protocols, and relevant safety regulations.
