Medical Coder

Overview

Collance Technology is seeking a Medical Coder for a permanent work-from-home role. During the training phase, the position will require attendance at the office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Examine medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Convert clinical terms and documentation into the correct coded format.
• Verify that charts and records are complete and error-free.
• Coordinate with medical billing staff so that treatment codes are received and processed accurately.
• Stay updated on coding and billing rules and follow the required standards.
• Work with doctors or other healthcare professionals to resolve unclear, missing, or conflicting coding details.
• Confirm that every procedure and service is supported by the appropriate diagnosis code.
• Carry out coding audits to make sure documentation remains precise and compliant.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Certification in medical coding from a recognized program such as CPC or CRC.
• Prior experience with HCC coding is mandatory.
• Good understanding of medical vocabulary and routine healthcare procedures.
• Strong working knowledge of health insurance requirements and medical coding regulations.
• Comfort using coding tools and electronic health record systems.
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Clear communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Good organization and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
