Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site engineering position in Riyadh for a Mechanical Technical Office Engineer focused on engineering studies and water infrastructure projects. The role centers on preparing and checking mechanical designs, calculations, and technical studies for water, stormwater, and wastewater systems, including treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
The engineer will work closely with project managers, site teams, and engineers from other disciplines to confirm that designs align with project requirements, client expectations, and applicable codes and standards. The position also involves technical document review, material submittals, shop drawing assessment, tender support, and engineering assistance for construction as well as operations and maintenance activities.
In addition, the role contributes to project risk reviews, quality assurance efforts, and ongoing improvement initiatives that help improve delivery efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review mechanical engineering designs, calculations, and technical studies for water, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure.
- Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and multidisciplinary engineering groups to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and client requirements.
- Examine technical documents and support the development of accurate engineering deliverables.
- Prepare material submittals and review shop drawings as part of project execution support.
- Assist with tender and bid documentation from a technical standpoint.
- Provide engineering support during construction and operations & maintenance activities.
- Contribute to risk assessments, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline; advanced degrees or professional certifications are considered beneficial.
- Background in technical office engineering, design review, and engineering studies for water, stormwater, or wastewater projects.
- Understanding of relevant international and local codes, standards, and industry best practices for mechanical systems in infrastructure work.
- Ability to use engineering software such as AutoCAD and mechanical design tools, along with strong MS Office skills for reporting and documentation.
- Strong analytical, coordination, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Capacity to work effectively with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with large infrastructure contractors or public-sector projects in Saudi Arabia is preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of equipment maintenance, maintenance and repair, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for mechanical systems in water and wastewater infrastructure.
