Role Overview
The Market Development Associate will help grow district-level revenue by executing targeted go-to-market plans tailored to specific states. This position plays an important role in generating pipeline for Sales and Marketing through research-driven outreach, outbound campaign execution, and support for conference-led demand generation.
This role is a strong fit for someone early in a sales or go-to-market career who wants clear goals, measurable outcomes, and exposure to strategic sales work inside a fast-growing education technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Research state-level K–12 rules, processes, and operational differences connected to fundraisers, boosters, and school districts.
- Create, record, and keep current detailed state-by-state sales plans in HubSpot.
- Decide which states to pursue first based on size of opportunity, market readiness, and ease of entry.
- Work alongside Marketing to shape messaging and campaigns using state-specific findings.
- Investigate district and school decision-makers and enter accurate contact information into HubSpot.
- Help add at least 1,700 new school buildings to the pipeline by generating qualified discovery meetings.
- Run outbound email and phone sequences consistently, with speed and close attention to detail.
- Develop, document, and distribute effective outreach approaches and best practices to the sales team.
- Stay on track with monthly and quarterly targets for booked and completed discovery meetings.
- Maintain weekly activity goals for calls, emails, and completed sequences.
- Keep CRM records accurate and up to date, including activities, pipeline stages, and contact details.
- Support conference planning and follow-up, including list uploads, lead sheets, and account executive briefings.
- Share useful prospect context with account executives, including state-level details and lead status.
- Carry out prompt and strategic post-event follow-up and use those learnings to improve ongoing campaigns.

Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in sales development, market development, or outbound prospecting; experience in SaaS or EdTech is preferred.
- Prior work in a CRM-based environment, with HubSpot as the preferred platform.
- Strong research skills along with solid organization and time management abilities.
- Comfort working in a high-volume outbound role with performance-based targets.
- Knowledge of the K–12 education market is beneficial but not mandatory.
