Role overview
This full-time, on-site role in the New York City metropolitan area is for a Logistics Manager responsible for field logistics, delivery execution, and territory-based operations. The position carries a base salary of $100,000 to $110,000, depending on experience. The person in this role will guide the logistics support function, coordinate daily distribution work, maintain strong relationships with customers and accounts, and look for ways to improve operational performance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who brings solid logistics expertise, experience managing teams, and confidence working directly with customers in a fast-moving field environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Logistics Support Team by hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and managing performance.
- Run day-to-day delivery activities, including dispatch planning, route design, scheduling, and assigning workloads.
- Carry out field assessments, ride-alongs, and regular check-ins to reinforce expectations and support employee growth.
- Oversee fleet operations so vehicles stay maintained, safety standards are followed, and transportation compliance obligations are met.
- Find and roll out process improvements that increase delivery efficiency, lower costs, and support growth.
- Make sure deliveries are completed correctly and in line with company standards, including product handling, customer service, and payment collection when required.
- Handle reconciliation tasks, including cash management, reporting accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.
- Support key accounts through field activity such as deliveries, pickups, merchandising support, and event participation.
- Track promotional items, samples, event materials, and other field assets.
- Work closely with Sales, Inventory, Distribution, and Operations teams to keep all initiatives aligned.
- Keep operational records, reporting tools, CRM updates, and documentation accurate and current.
- Follow internal policies, regulatory rules, and transportation guidelines at all times.
- Take on additional logistics and operations projects as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in logistics, delivery operations, account management, or other customer-facing field roles.
- At least 1 year of experience in supervising a team or leading people.
- Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and team development skills.
- Ability to manage routing, scheduling, and operational workflows effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with CRM or ERP platforms is preferred.
- Strong organization, multitasking ability, and attention to detail.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
- Eligibility to obtain any required state licenses or permits.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a background screening.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active field work when needed.
Compensation and benefits
- Annual base pay of $100,000 to $110,000, depending on experience.
