Role Summary
As a Maintenance Officer, you will help keep homes and shared areas safe, functional, and well maintained. The role covers both reactive fixes and planned preventative upkeep, along with general handyperson duties. It suits someone with trade experience or strong domestic maintenance skills who enjoys working with people and approaches tasks proactively.

Expressions of interest are being accepted for full-time or part-time Maintenance Officers across communities in the Gold Coast area. You are invited to share your availability, and the team will get in touch if and when a suitable opening becomes available.
Key Duties
- Carry out everyday repair work and handyperson tasks such as painting, hanging pictures, and replacing light globes or fittings.
- Handle minor plumbing upkeep, including changing taps and washers.
- Assist with maintenance of outdoor assets like lighting and sprinkler systems.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks throughout the community.
- Look after tools and equipment so they remain safe, tidy, and ready to use.
- Keep records of maintenance work, notes, and progress updates.
- Interact respectfully with residents while working as part of a helpful team.
- This is not a gardening position.
What You Need
- Background in general maintenance or a trade, with practical handyperson experience.
- A proactive approach and the ability to identify problems, troubleshoot, and act independently.
- Understanding of maintenance schedules and the likely service life of equipment and village assets.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain work clearly to residents.
- A friendly, professional manner and pride in producing quality work.
- A current driver’s licence is mandatory.
- At least two COVID-19 vaccinations are required.
Pay and Benefits
The role offers pay from $28.96 per hour plus superannuation and applicable award entitlements, including penalty rates, overtime, and allowances.
