Role overview
This position is responsible for handling weight and balance activities for Kenya Airways and partner airline flights. The role also requires adherence to aviation, legal, and company standards to help maintain a secure and healthy working environment.
Core responsibilities

- Produce precise load sheets covering load distribution, passenger seating, special loads, and last-minute changes, in line with company procedures and customer service agreements.
- Work out EZFW accurately within approved limits to avoid unnecessary fuel uplift and pass this information to Flight Dispatchers on time.
- Provide the shift leader with daily Weight & Balance performance updates so informed, cost-conscious decisions can be made and flight safety maintained.
- Apply safety, security, and emergency requirements consistently at all times.
- Help ensure the workplace remains healthy, safe, and secure in line with industry rules, regulations, company processes, and customer airline requirements.
- Escalate quality, safety, and security concerns, defects, near misses, and non-conformities immediately through the correct reporting channels.
- Send a signed NOTOC copy to OCC for emergency use and notify the destination airport as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with customer airline weight and balance rules and SOPs to support safe operations and legal compliance.
- Keep Flight Dispatchers and flight crew informed of EZFW updates to support optimal fuel uplift, especially on tankering routes.
Skills and qualifications
The role calls for strong communication, attention to detail, and computer literacy. Candidates should hold a Diploma in Flight/Airport Operations or a Certificate in Weight and Balance; a university degree in mathematics, applied sciences, or a related field is an added advantage. Applicants must have at least 3 years of relevant experience in Flight Operations or Airport Operations and be familiar with Kenya Airways commercial activities and processes.
