Role Overview

This position is for a senior engineer who will lead delivery within a co-build pod made up of internal engineers and external subject-matter experts. You will help shape VET OS alongside the people who use it, set the technical direction and delivery pace for the pod, and take ownership of features from the first discovery step through to release.

You will use AI coding agents to accelerate development, while applying strong product judgment, technical taste, and engineering discipline to ensure the output is genuinely production-ready. The work covers the full cycle: investigate, scope, prototype, validate, build, and deploy.

What You'll Do

• Take features from early problem discovery through to live release.
• Work closely with SMEs and customers to understand real-world needs.
• Define the solution approach and the trade-offs involved.
• Create quick prototypes that can be tested early.
• Validate ideas with SMEs and customers, then refine based on feedback.
• Use AI coding agents to handle much of the implementation work while you ensure quality and fit.
• Release product updates and remain accountable for quality after deployment.
• Lead your pod by setting technical direction, delivery pace, and standards.

Technical Background

The team is looking for someone with 4+ years of senior-level engineering experience and hands-on capability across modern application and cloud technologies. Relevant experience may include JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Next.js, React, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, SQL, and NoSQL systems.

You should also have practical familiarity with core generative AI concepts and tooling, including model SDKs, agent frameworks, vector databases and RAG, MCP, prompt and context design, AI safety and guardrails, and balancing cost, accuracy, and latency.

Speed is important, but the core expectation is that you can evaluate AI-generated output, pressure-test it, and harden it until it is production-grade.

Reusable agents, prompts, and automation you create are expected to improve the productivity of the whole pod, not just your own workflow.
