Lead Corrosion Control Specialist

Role overview

This position leads the daily preservation work for vehicles and equipment, making sure the team follows safe working methods, completes tasks to the required quality, and stays aligned with the Performance Work Statement and the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

What you will do

• Coordinate and oversee the routine work of the team reporting directly to this role.
• Ensure proper trade methods are followed at all times, with close attention to health and safety in a high-risk environment.
• Carry out stage inspections and final checks to confirm that completed work meets the required standard.
• Use the approved materials and equipment listed in USCENTAFI 24-302, or an equivalent reference, to prepare vehicles for long-term or extended storage.
• Track supplies and stock levels, and promptly report shortages or reordering needs to the Material Control Specialist so production is not interrupted.
• Complete job documentation, including work orders, quality control self-inspection checklists, USAF/Amentum forms, and maintenance history updates.
• Prepare vehicles for final review by the quality control inspector and/or QAE to ensure the finished work meets or exceeds the expected quality level.
• Service and repair tools and equipment used in preservation work.
• Attend scheduled safety briefings and required on-the-job training.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.
• Work in a maintenance shop or warehouse setting and, at times, outdoors for extended periods.

Requirements

• Strong organizational ability and intermediate English skills in speaking, reading, and writing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of refinishing methods and techniques.
• Solid understanding of health risks, hazard controls, and the precautions needed to work safely.
• Valid driver’s license from the home country and the ability to obtain a host-nation driver’s license.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Training or certification in painting, finishing, and vehicle preservation.
• At least 3 years of experience in corrosion control and vehicle preservation techniques.
• May be exposed to high noise levels from operating equipment.
• Must wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed for the task.
• Physically able to handle the role’s demands, including lifting, pushing, and pulling at least 50 lbs and performing extensive equipment handling.
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally.

Work environment

The role is based in Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Qatar, in an onsite maintenance environment.
