Laboratory Specialist

About the Role

This contract role is focused on scientific and laboratory operations support for AI data work. The position pays between $50 and $70 per hour and is fully remote within the United States.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate scientific figures, lab reports, experimental outcomes, quality records, and technical papers to confirm they are accurate, clear, and internally consistent.
• Review dashboards, charts, and other scientific visuals, then provide informed feedback on their scientific soundness and overall presentation.
• Develop scoring rubrics and evaluation criteria for interpreting complex industry documents and data visualizations.
• Read, condense, and critically examine technical scientific information to help build strong AI training datasets.
• Record findings, flag inconsistencies, and suggest ways to improve clarity and scientific precision.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver complete, high-quality project outputs.
• Apply subject-matter knowledge to improve workflows and raise the quality of training data.

Profile That Fits

Candidates with hands-on exposure to scientific, laboratory, research, manufacturing, or quality-focused environments are preferred. Strong analytical thinking, careful judgment, and the ability to assess complex technical material are essential. Clear written and verbal communication is important for documenting findings and giving feedback. Experience or academic background in biology, chemistry, physics, lab management, R&D, quality science, or manufacturing science is especially valuable. Comfort working remotely and using digital collaboration and documentation tools is also expected.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $50 to $70 per hour.
