Role overview

Join the kitchen team at DJH Resort Neuharlingersiel, where guests come to relax and enjoy their stay by the coast. The resort is one of the larger and more modern facilities within the German Youth Hostel Association and hosts families, school groups, sports teams, and other visitors every day. The property includes 400 beds, contemporary apartments and bungalows, plus extensive sports and leisure options. Your contribution will help ensure that guests are well catered for throughout their stay.

The position is full-time and available immediately.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen operations running smoothly and in an orderly manner.
• Prepare both hot and cold dishes in line with modern nutritional and quality standards.
• Set up, support, and maintain the buffet service.
• Help shape menus and bring in your own ideas.
• Receive incoming goods and monitor stock levels in storage.
• Follow hygiene, safety, and quality requirements at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including dishwashing and overall sanitation.

Requirements

• Completed training as a cook or in house management / hospitality operations leadership.
• Enjoyment of plating, presentation, and buffet service.
• Friendly manner and a strong team-oriented approach.
• Comfortable interacting with guests.
• German language skills at level B1 or higher.
• Reliable, adaptable, and able to handle demanding situations.
• Self-driven and willing to contribute ideas.
• Living in the region is helpful, but not mandatory.
