Role overview
This part-time, on-site Junior Data Analyst position in California, United States is focused on turning raw data into useful business insights. The role supports reporting, business intelligence, and decision-making across operational, financial, and strategic activities.
What you will do
You will work with data gathered from different sources by collecting, structuring, checking, and analyzing it to ensure it can be used reliably for business needs. The role places a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality while handling large datasets.
Day-to-day work includes creating reports, dashboards, and performance summaries; cleaning and validating data; spotting trends and patterns; and helping teams interpret results. You may also maintain databases, support forecasting and planning, contribute to process improvements, and partner with other departments on reporting and analytical requests.
What you should bring
The ideal candidate is comfortable using spreadsheets, databases, reporting platforms, and business intelligence tools. A solid understanding of data analysis methods, basic statistics, data visualization, and reporting standards will be valuable. Strong numerical thinking and the ability to explain findings clearly are essential.
Professionalism, flexibility, curiosity, and good communication skills are important for success in this role. You should be able to manage several tasks at once, meet deadlines, work independently when needed, and collaborate smoothly with teammates and stakeholders.
Preferred background
A degree or academic background in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred. Experience in reporting, research, administration, operations support, data handling, or analytics projects would be an advantage.
Familiarity with reporting tools, database systems, business intelligence platforms, data visualization software, SQL, or other analytical applications is also helpful.
