Junior Accountant

Role Overview

We are seeking a careful and analytical Junior Accountant to join the finance team in Abu Dhabi. In this position, you will support the Senior Accountant with routine accounting work across iGaming and Fintech operations. The role calls for strong Excel capability, hands-on experience with reconciliations, familiarity with ZOHO Books or similar accounting tools, and a solid grasp of core accounting concepts and tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Accountant with day-to-day finance and accounting tasks.
• Accurately enter financial transactions into ZOHO Books.
• Carry out bank, payment gateway, wallet, merchant account, and other balance sheet reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Build and update accounting schedules along with the supporting records.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing work.
• Draft journal entries and keep accounting records complete and accurate.
• Help prepare schedules and documents needed for VAT, tax, and regulatory compliance.
• Keep financial files organized and ensure all support documents are properly maintained.
• Contribute to management reporting.
• Follow company accounting policies and internal control procedures.
• Take on additional accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by the Senior Accountant.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• Preferably 2 to 3 years of accounting experience.
• Prior use of ZOHO Books or comparable accounting software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel ability, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and basic formula work.
• Proven experience with bank, payment gateway, and account reconciliations.
• Good working knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
• Basic understanding of VAT, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
• High accuracy with numbers and strong attention to detail.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Experience in iGaming, Fintech, payments, or digital services is considered an advantage.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with payment processors, merchant accounts, and digital wallet reconciliations.

Comfort working with large volumes of financial transactions.

Quick learning ability and adaptability in a fast-moving environment.

High standards of integrity and confidentiality when dealing with financial data.

Reporting Line

This role reports directly to the Senior Accountant and works closely with the Finance, Operations, HR, and Management teams.
