Role overview
The IT Executive will keep the hotel’s technology environment running reliably at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, supporting day-to-day operations across systems, networks, user devices, and communication tools. The position plays a key part in helping all departments function smoothly by delivering technical support, protecting data, and minimizing downtime for essential hotel applications.
Minor Hotels is a global hotel owner, operator, and investor with a portfolio of more than 530 properties across 50+ countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America. Its brands include Anantara, Avani, Elewana, Oaks, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, and TIVOLI.
Systems and network support
- Take ownership of routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for hotel IT platforms such as the Property Management System, Point of Sale system, accounting tools, and other property applications.
- Oversee the health of LAN/WAN infrastructure, Wi‑Fi access, and server environments.
- Put backup routines, recovery readiness, and security safeguards in place and ensure they are maintained.
User assistance
- Deliver daily technical help to hotel employees across hardware, software, email, and printing issues.
- Prepare and configure new computers, user profiles, and access rights.
- Guide team members on correct use of hotel software and IT rules.
Maintenance and upgrades
- Work with external vendors and service partners for servicing and support of hardware, software, and network equipment.
- Schedule and carry out periodic updates and preventive maintenance across IT systems.
- Keep complete records of IT equipment, software licences, and warranty details.
Information security and compliance
- Help ensure systems meet data protection requirements and PCI-DSS standards.
- Watch for security risks and reduce the chance of unauthorized access or data loss.
- Review systems regularly to check compliance and improve efficiency.
Communication systems
- Support hotel telecom infrastructure including IP phones, PBX, and VoIP systems.
- Keep guest internet services working properly and respond quickly to connectivity problems.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar discipline. The role calls for 2 to 4 years of IT support experience, with hospitality industry exposure being an advantage. Applicants must be comfortable working under pressure and able to provide support on a 24/7 basis when needed.
Core capabilities
Strong working knowledge of hotel technology platforms such as PMS, POS, back-office systems, and CCTV is expected, along with familiarity in Windows Server, Microsoft Office, networking, and Wi‑Fi administration. Solid troubleshooting ability, analytical thinking, and clear communication are important for success in this role.
