International Student Counsellor

Role Overview

This position is for an International Student Counsellor who will help prospective students plan and pursue study-abroad opportunities. The role is full-time and remote, but applicants must be located in Lagos. The salary offered is #300,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide prospective students on destination options, course selection, university choices, admission processes, and visa criteria.
• Assist students from the first enquiry through to application submission and enrolment.
• Keep student information organized and up to date, and ensure enquiries are followed up promptly.
• Develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, parents, and partner schools or institutions.
• Plan, create, and share appealing social media posts that highlight study-abroad opportunities.
• Handle enquiries coming in through social channels and other online communication platforms.
• Support outreach and recruitment efforts such as marketing drives, education fairs, webinars, and similar activities.
• Track developments in international education, admission policies, and visa rules so guidance remains current.

Required Experience and Attributes

The employer is seeking someone with prior exposure to international student counselling or education consulting. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities are important, along with good organisation and relationship management skills. A solid grasp of major social media platforms and basic content creation is also needed. The ideal candidate should be proactive, careful with details, customer-focused, able to work alone when needed, and comfortable collaborating in a busy environment.
