About the Opportunity
A school district in Allentown is hiring six in-person Math tutors to work with middle and high school students during the school day, with a strong focus on 9th grade Algebra. The role is centered on helping students close learning gaps from the previous school year while providing active supervision and structured academic support.

Pay
Compensation is $22 to $26 per hour. Final pay will be based on the candidate’s education and experience and will be confirmed during the interview.
Work Schedule
The schedule runs Monday through Friday for 6 hours each day, totaling 36 hours per week. Coverage is needed during regular school hours, approximately 7:30am to 2:40pm EST.
Key Duties
The tutor will work with student groups independently, without support from a classroom teacher or school staff member. The role includes setting up the tutoring space, leading lessons using provided curriculum and materials, keeping students engaged, and helping create a positive environment where students feel they belong.
Other tasks may include taking attendance, entering lesson and progress information into the dashboard system when applicable, assisting with baseline and final assessments when asked, supporting positive student behavior, and handling clock-in/clock-out procedures through Deputy. Some assignments may also involve student pickup and drop-off within designated school areas.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the company, the manager, or the school site as needed.
Requirements
Applicants should have completed an associate degree or higher, or currently be enrolled in college. Prior tutoring experience and comfort working with children are important. Candidates must be confident tutoring high school math, especially Algebra I and Algebra II, and should be comfortable in a classroom setting.
A clear FBI-DOJ background check is required and will be handled through the employer. Candidates must also be able to complete an in-person background screening.
