Role overview

Germain Hôtels is seeking a reliable and energetic Houseperson to support housekeeping operations in Calgary. This role is suited to someone who takes pride in keeping spaces organized, clean, and ready for guests, while helping room attendants stay fully equipped and supported. The position calls for someone who can stay calm under pressure, move quickly between tasks, and handle a range of cleaning and housekeeping duties across the property.

Key duties

• Keep shared guest and staff areas clean, tidy, and presentable, and record any issues that need follow-up.
• Assist with cleaning-related tasks, room readiness, and the handling of housekeeping materials.
• Move and rearrange furniture when needed, including taking pieces apart and putting them back together.
• Collect laundry items and replenish bedding supplies on all floors.
• Carry out detailed cleaning work on items and areas such as draperies, windows, balconies, decks, carpets, and floors.
• Handle guest requests with care and attention, contributing ideas and personal initiative to improve the guest experience.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is punctual, committed, self-directed, and proactive. They should be comfortable juggling priorities, working efficiently in a fast-moving environment, and maintaining a positive, hands-on attitude throughout the day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is considered an advantage.
• Prior experience in a similar role is an asset.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and carry out physical tasks such as bending and lifting up to 50 lb.
• Strong independence, initiative, efficient work habits, and the ability to organize priorities well.
