Role overview
Empire Homes is hiring a Home Orientation Representative to manage pre-closing home inspections for newly built properties. The role focuses on identifying construction deficiencies, documenting them in line with Tarion Construction Performance Guidelines and the Ontario Building Code, and leading homeowner pre-delivery inspections with the construction team before the Initial Warranty Form is filed. You will also help ensure any open deficiencies are resolved. This is a replacement hire supporting communities in Breslau, Caledonia, and Brantford.
Compensation
The expected pay range is CAD 50,000 to 65,000 per year. This position is eligible for the company’s short-term incentive program. Final compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and broader market or business factors.
Key duties
- Arrange inspection appointments with homeowners according to the closing schedule.
- Carry out and lead pre-delivery inspections with homeowners and construction staff.
- Identify, record, and track deficiencies during pre-closing inspections.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and internal aging updates.
- Communicate with homeowners and internal Empire departments by email.
- Set up site files and inspection packages, including printed documents, site records, and CCP materials.
- Coordinate the completion of outstanding PDI items.
- Complete exterior site audits.
- Assist onsite administrative staff when needed.
- Conduct follow-up home orientation activities after closing.
- Travel to different sites and offices as business needs require.
What the company is looking for
Candidates should have a college diploma or degree in a related field. Two to three years of relevant experience is preferred, and exposure to Tarion CPG and the Ontario Building Code is considered an advantage. Strong computer ability, including Microsoft Office and the willingness to learn other systems, is required. Customer service background is also an asset. A valid G driver’s licence is mandatory.
