The Geospatial Information Specialist will support the 380 ECES Installation Geospatial Information Office in Abu Dhabi, helping strengthen in-house capability for engineering-contract related work. This role focuses on technical support for planning, acquiring, maintaining, and managing GIS capabilities in line with contract requirements.

  • Deliver a broad range of data management support, with geospatial data as the main focus and non-geospatial data handled when needed to enable integration and interoperability.
  • Safeguard, maintain, and make discoverable all installation geospatial information managed through the GeoBase Program, including the Defense Installation Spatial Data Infrastructure Common Installation Picture, AF Common Installation Picture, Regional Installation Picture, and related layers.
  • Create engineering exhibits, site maps, and project graphics.
  • Link GIS datasets with AutoCAD drawings and engineering records.
  • Ensure all captured, created, edited, processed, or analyzed geospatial information is delivered electronically in formats compatible with ESRI file geodatabases and related software.
  • Support the development, upkeep, and quality control of geospatial data in accordance with applicable guidance from schema owners, requirement owners, Air Force instructions, and common civilian-sector practices.
  • Coordinate with Air Force planners, Installation Geospatial Information Officers, Field Operating Agencies, Primary Subordinate Units, and installation leadership on policy, guidance, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain and refresh GIS databases and installation maps.
  • Assist with engineering and construction project planning.
  • Provide vector data editing and maintenance support for a government-furnished geodatabase.

Required background and technical knowledge
