Full Time Driver - Nanaimo

Role overview

UPS is hiring full-time courier drivers for its Nanaimo package facility in Nanaimo, British Columbia. This is a permanent, on-site position with deliveries carried out for both business and residential customers.

Position details

• Position title: Courier Driver

• Work location: Madsen Rd, Nanaimo, BC
• Working hours: 8:45 AM to 9:00 PM*
• Working days: Monday to Friday*
• Shift timings may change depending on operational needs

Key responsibilities

The courier driver will handle daily package delivery work and support pickup and drop-off operations. The role includes vehicle safety checks, package handling, and use of delivery navigation tools.

Working duties

• Complete a pre-trip inspection of the assigned vehicle before going out on deliveries
• Lift, sort, and move parcels weighing between 10 and 70 lbs
• Load and unload packages during delivery and pickup stops
• Use the DIAD device to help navigate addresses and postal codes

Candidate profile

Applicants should be comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing outdoor environment and should be able to handle changing weather conditions. Prior customer service or driving experience is helpful, though not mandatory.

Requirements

• Availability to work Monday through Friday*
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Customer service and/or driving experience is considered an advantage
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing outdoor setting
• Willingness to work in different weather conditions
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence
• Clean driving record
• Ability to lift parcels from 10 lbs up to 70 lbs (32 kg) without assistance
