Role overview
Future Colossal is seeking freelance Experience Designers to contribute to upcoming immersive installations, interactive experiences, and brand activations. The team has urgent project needs and is giving priority to designers who can start right away, while also welcoming interest for future freelance assignments.
This opportunity is a strong fit for a designer who combines visual design strengths with UX thinking and can shape both the look of a project and the way audiences interact with it.
About the company
Future Colossal is an experiential innovation lab with offices in New York City and Atlanta. The team develops new technologies and builds immersive environments across physical and virtual formats, with an emphasis on playful, memorable audience interaction.
The studio works on VR, AR, mixed reality, physical installations, and unconventional experience concepts. Their work appears at brand events, digital out-of-home media, trade shows, technology events, festivals, live events, permanent installations, and museum or gallery exhibitions, serving clients across many industries. The pace is fast, the challenges change constantly, and the work often pushes into new territory.
Requirements
Applicants should bring proven experience creating design work for experiential, interactive, or brand-led projects.
- Strong background in graphic design and user experience design
- Ability to develop visual direction alongside audience or user flow
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: drawing or illustration, UI/UX design, 2D compositing with Photoshop or Illustrator, 3D modeling or animation, 3D character design or rigging, Unity 3D or level design, motion graphics or video editing, concept development and visual storytelling

This is a project-based freelance contract role.
