Schedule and Work Location
This is a full-time night shift role based onsite in Daytona Beach, Florida, at 301 Memorial Medical Pkwy, Daytona Beach, FL 32117. The role is for overnight coverage.
Role Summary
The Floor Technician supports environmental services by maintaining carpeted and hard floor surfaces across assigned areas. The position requires flexibility to cover staffing gaps and other areas as needed, while following approved cleaning methods and safety practices.
Key Duties
The technician will carry out floor care and general cleaning tasks, evaluate floor conditions, choose the appropriate maintenance method, and complete assigned duties using the department’s approved procedures. The role also includes using personal protective equipment correctly, monitoring equipment and supply levels, reporting shortages or equipment problems, and sharing suggestions for improvement with the supervisor while documenting work completed each day. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The position calls for familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, along with the ability to keep equipment and work areas clean and safe. Candidates must be able to communicate in English and use basic computer tools such as a mouse and keyboard. The job also requires the ability to climb and work from a ladder. Preferred strengths include knowledge of floor care maintenance processes, the safe use of floor care equipment such as commercial rotary machines, auto scrubbers, vacuums, and burnishers, as well as the ability to assess, correct, and maintain a variety of floor surfaces. Familiarity with environmental services equipment and chemicals is required.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The role requires at least 1 year of floor technician experience.
