Job Overview
This role is suited to a dependable and adaptable IT support professional who can step in on site when permanent engineers are unavailable or when dispatch support is required. The position focuses on hands-on technical assistance across end-user devices, workplace systems, and office technology.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver on-site support for desktops, laptops, and connected peripherals.
- Set up, configure, and upkeep hardware and software in line with company standards.
- Carry out IMAC workstreams for IT assets, including install, move, add, and change tasks.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including break-fix support.
- Liaise with OEMs and vendors for repairs, replacements, and issue escalation.
- Track IT stock and assets, maintaining accurate inventory records and documentation.
- Prepare system images for laptops and desktop machines.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers and network printers.
- Support meeting rooms with conference setup, AV equipment, and related technologies.
- Provide premium support for VIP and end users with a responsive, service-focused approach.
- Handle Office 365 issues and basic user account troubleshooting.
- Install and troubleshoot compliance and security software.
- Support both Mac and Windows environments.
- Work within agreed SLA targets and service expectations.
- Record incidents and fixes clearly, and contribute to knowledge base documentation.
- Be available for after-hours work, events, and recurring meetings when needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Solid hands-on experience with desktop and laptop support.
- Practical knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and peripheral device support.
- Basic networking understanding, including DHCP, DNS, and LAN connectivity.
- Experience setting up and resolving printer and network printer issues.
- Familiarity with Office 365 support tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Exposure to inventory control and vendor management.
