Pearl Social is a social network designed for intellectually curious people. Although the product lives online, the most important part of the experience takes place face to face, especially around shared meals. The team is looking for an Events & Operations Associate to run the day-to-day logistics for the New York market.
Role overview
This is a practical, high-involvement position focused on ensuring every offline gathering is delivered smoothly and to a premium standard. The role goes beyond event planning and sits at the center of community operations, with responsibility for event logistics, restaurant relationships, and flawless on-site delivery.
Key responsibilities
You will oversee the ecosystem for Pearl Social’s events in New York, including monthly dinner parties and smaller salon-style gatherings. That includes guest movement, venue setup, and execution on the ground.
You will also manage reservation coordination and restaurant partnerships for both the app and private events, serving as the main point of contact for hospitality partners across the city.
In addition, you will source, evaluate, and secure venues and restaurants that fit the brand’s upscale, intellectually oriented identity. Vendor management, contract coordination, and budget oversight are part of the role.
The position also involves creating and maintaining operational systems for events, such as check-in workflows, dietary tracking, and post-event reporting.
You will help build and coordinate a network of ambassadors, tastemakers, and local stakeholders to support hosting and community activation.
Because this is an execution-heavy role, you will be expected to attend events in person, solve problems as they arise, and actively shape the guest experience to encourage strong discussion and engagement.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate brings 2 to 6 years of experience in event planning, hospitality, operations, or coordinating premium dining and venue experiences.
You should have strong familiarity with the New York City restaurant landscape, including private dining options, venue contacts, and the ability to secure bookings at difficult-to-access restaurants.
Exceptional attention to detail is essential, especially when managing seating, guest preferences, and dietary requirements.
This role suits someone who is highly hands-on, resourceful, and action-oriented, and who is comfortable taking on whatever is needed to make an event succeed.
You should also be comfortable managing budgets and understanding how events can support growth, retention, and revenue goals.
Strong emotional intelligence is important, as the role involves working with VIPs, high-profile personalities, and demanding stakeholders in a professional manner.
