Role overview
This opportunity is posted for a partner employer that handles the application review and all subsequent hiring steps. The partner is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager in Germany to lead digital growth activity in a remote-first setup.
In this role, you will own the company’s digital marketing approach from planning through execution. Your work will focus on expanding awareness, improving engagement, and increasing subscriber growth through multiple online channels. The position is very hands-on and requires you to run campaigns end to end, improve performance using data, and uncover new growth avenues. You will work closely with teams across the business to turn product messaging into effective campaigns while staying focused on clear, measurable results. The ideal person is self-directed, highly analytical, and motivated to create genuine marketing experiences for technically informed audiences.
Key accountabilities
- Take full ownership of major digital channels such as the website, SEO, email, paid advertising, and social media, with a constant focus on reach, conversion, and customer growth.
- Design, launch, and assess integrated marketing campaigns from the initial idea through post-campaign review, ensuring they support product launches and commercial goals.
- Strengthen organic search performance by shaping content plans and improving on-site SEO to build long-term visibility and reduce reliance on paid acquisition.
- Run email marketing initiatives, including lifecycle journeys, product announcements, customer engagement, and reactivation efforts, while tracking the key metrics that matter.
- Manage paid media spend and keep improving return on investment across digital advertising channels.
- Track marketing results through dashboards and analytics tools, then share clear insights and recommendations to lift campaign performance.
- Work with internal partners to develop persuasive channel-specific messaging and creative assets that appeal to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Grow participation in relevant online communities and explore additional growth paths through partnerships, affiliate activity, referrals, and influencer collaborations.
Requirements
- Practical experience managing digital channels such as SEO, email, paid search/social, and content marketing, including ownership of performance metrics.
- Strong analytical ability, with experience creating dashboards, reading marketing funnels, and making optimization decisions based on data.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for technically savvy audiences.
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools, CRM platforms, and email systems such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar software.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and deliver marketing plans with limited supervision.
- Commercially minded, with experience managing budgets and improving marketing spend based on measurable results.
- Understanding of community-led marketing and the ability to build genuine engagement across online platforms.
- Comfortable collaborating in a cross-functional, remote-first environment.
- Experience marketing technical, developer-focused, or open-source products is an advantage, and familiarity with the smart home space is also beneficial.
Benefits and conditions
- Full-time remote role with flexible working hours and an asynchronous working style.
- Compensation aligned with local market benchmarks and experience.
- Annual bonus tied to performance.
- At least five weeks of paid vacation each year.
- Paid sick leave where this is not already fully covered by local law.
- Paid parental leave package.
- Home office equipment budget, with the equipment becoming yours after three years.
- Annual allowance for smart home equipment.
- Yearly budget for professional learning and education.
- 50% reimbursement of home internet costs.
- A personal innovation day every two weeks.
- Statutory employee benefits applicable in the country of residence.
Application and hiring process
The partner company manages applications and next steps directly. The hiring flow includes an AI-assisted matching step used to screen applications against the role requirements, after which a shortlist is passed to the employer. Interviews and assessments, if any, are handled by the employer’s internal team.
Data privacy
By applying, candidates agree that personal data may be processed to evaluate the application and share relevant information with the hiring employer. This is based on legitimate interest and pre-contractual processing under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. Applicants may exercise rights such as access, correction, deletion, and objection at any time. AI tools may be used to support parts of the hiring workflow, including application review, resume analysis, response assessment, and flagging possible inconsistencies or verification signals. These tools assist recruiters but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people. Further information about data processing can be requested directly from the recruiter.
