Descrizione del lavoro

About the company

Harnest, part of the Mazzei Group, focuses on delivering housing and development projects with strong social impact. The business works across social and affordable housing, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), and medium-density developments, combining community outcomes with a substantial commercial operation. With annual revenue above $100 million and a project pipeline exceeding $150 million, it operates as an integrated group providing design and construction solutions from start to finish.

The opportunity

The Design Coordinator will support the flow of design information and help bring together consultants, internal teams, and project stakeholders. The role is central to keeping documentation accurate, compliant, and ready for construction across multiple project phases.

Key duties

  • Manage the circulation of design documents to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Keep document control systems and registers current.
  • Support the Design Manager by checking that design outputs align with applicable standards, including the NCC, BCA, and Australian Standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact between consultants, Project Managers, Estimators, and Construction teams on design matters.
  • Track consultant deliverables and follow up to keep design schedules on target.
  • Assist with preparing, structuring, and presenting important design paperwork and reports.

About you

The ideal candidate brings 3 to 5 years of experience in architecture or building design and holds a tertiary qualification in Building Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Experience in social or affordable housing and SDA would be beneficial, and exposure to low-rise Class 2 apartments is an advantage. Familiarity with MS Project and Bluebeam would also be useful.

Additional requirements

You should be comfortable working with the NCC, Australian Standards, and design-related legislation. Strong organisation, solid document management habits, and a collaborative approach are important, along with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.

What the role offers

  • Opportunity to work for a privately owned construction and property group with a varied project mix.
  • Involvement in purpose-led projects that contribute to social housing, SDA, and medium-density outcomes.
  • Room to influence and improve design processes within a growing team.
  • Paid parental leave for employees and their families.
  • Clear pathways for career growth within the Mazzei Group.
  • A values-driven workplace that emphasizes people, quality, and excellence.

Inclusion and eligibility

The employer promotes an inclusive environment and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQIA+ community members, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Applicants must have full Australian working rights.
