Job overview

This role is for a delivery driver based in Cobourg, Ontario, working on-site for an automotive parts business. The position combines safe deliveries with customer-facing sales support, inventory handling, and store upkeep.

What you’ll do

• Collect, organize, and safely transport parts to professional customers.
• Retrieve returned items and core parts.
• Distribute weekly and monthly promotional flyers and help support current sales and loyalty offers.
• Handle daily collection of credit accounts.
• Strengthen relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers and share delivery-related customer feedback with the CPP.
• Support upselling and cross-selling efforts to help raise average transaction value.
• Keep the store area clean, including floors, restrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
• Assist with general stocking tasks such as truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts.
• Stay informed about inventory and new product arrivals to better support sales.
• Speak with walk-in customers, learn what they need, and suggest suitable parts or services.
• Take on other assigned duties as needed.

• Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as required.
• Confidence in customer interaction and product promotion.
• Willingness to learn new products and selling techniques.

Experience and education

Previous automotive parts experience is preferred. A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.

Licensing and physical requirements

A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is mandatory. The job is physically active and typically involves walking and standing. It also requires speaking and hearing, using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The role regularly involves lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. Close, distance, color, and depth vision, along with the ability to adjust focus, are needed.

Work environment

The position is mainly indoors, but occasional outdoor work is expected in different weather conditions, such as when installing batteries and wiper blades. At times, the work may involve moving mechanical parts, heights, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock risk, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate.

Compensation and benefits

The expected pay range for a new hire is CAD 17.60 to CAD 18.85 per hour. Final pay may vary based on location, retail experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership experience, other relevant skills, and shift differential where applicable.
