Role overview
This position is for an interview stage courier role with FedEx Canada in St-Augustin, Quebec. The job focuses on timely and polite pickup and delivery of packages along a designated route, confirming that all shipments meet Federal Express Canada service standards, and handling related customer service tasks.
Key responsibilities
The courier will collect and deliver parcels on an assigned route, verify shipment compliance with service requirements, and support customers through service-related interactions.
Skills and qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving history
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages up to 150 lbs using the proper equipment
- At least 1 year of customer-facing business experience is preferred
- Must pass the required pre-placement driver assessment with the minimum score
- Basic familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian customs rules is an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Good planning, organisation, and time management skills
- Strong customer service mindset
- Comfortable handling multiple tasks, pressure, and fast-paced work
- Open to varied schedules, holidays, and changing business needs
Schedule and work conditions
This is a full-time role. The shift starts at 7:00 AM, and availability is required from Monday through Saturday. Work schedules may change based on business demand. If the employee lives in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required.
Compensation and incentive
The pay rate is $22.60. In addition, the role includes a retention bonus of $2,000, paid in instalments of $500 after 30 days, $500 after 100 days, $500 after 7 months, and $500 after 12 months of active employment, subject to applicable deductions.
Additional requirements and notes
Employees may be required to complete any mandatory testing, training, refresher training, and annual accreditations relevant to the role. The position also requires the ability to work in a PC Windows environment and to take on other duties as assigned. For roles where driving is a core responsibility, a valid driver’s licence such as Class 5, G, or 1[AZ] is required, along with a driving record showing no more than two violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before the application date. Selection may also consider the current driver abstract, interview performance, and results of any driver competency assessments.
