Role overview

The Contracts Lead will play a key role in procurement support for logistics services spanning Equinor’s Seismic, Exploration, Production Drilling, and FPSO Operations. The position focuses on building sourcing approaches, reviewing market conditions, running procurement activities to put Framework Agreements in place, defining and tracking KPIs, overseeing supplier performance, and supporting the requisition-to-pay flow.

Key responsibilities

  • Shape procurement and contracting approaches for several business areas, with immediate emphasis on logistics-related agreements.
  • Prepare bids and support them through clarifications, evaluation, negotiations, and final recommendations.
  • Collaborate across functions and business units to represent commercial needs.
  • Handle HSE pre-qualification requirements and related coordination.
  • Set up KPIs and follow supplier performance over time.
  • Coordinate with suppliers so Canada-Newfoundland Benefits reporting obligations are met.
  • Work with joint venture partners and other local operators on shared initiatives.
  • Carry out occasional sourcing of services, goods, and materials for the Bay du Nord project team when needed.
  • Take part in the emergency response team and be available for 24/7 callout duties as required.
  • Ensure work follows Equinor procedures and relevant regulatory obligations, including procurement processes, Canadian legal requirements, and other rules within the area of responsibility.
  • Support the Drilling Supply Responsible role when needed.

  • Proficiency with SAP or a comparable ERP platform, contract management tools, and Office 365.
  • Strong analytical capability and hands-on exposure to service and consultancy agreements, along with purchasing goods and materials.
  • Direct experience supporting exploration drilling and logistics in offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Good knowledge of Atlantic Accord legislation and related requirements.
  • Previous experience with the WELS Operator Logistics Tool is an advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external coordination.
  • Detail-oriented, commercially minded, and aligned with Equinor’s values and business ethics.
