Role summary

Primary duties

  • Promote safe execution by ensuring the contractor follows company life-saving rules and all environmental and safety requirements of the company and the State of Qatar.
  • Report site progress, major issues, emerging trends, and improvement suggestions to the Discipline Construction Lead or Senior Construction Supervisor.
  • Support review and approval of construction documents such as method statements, job hazard analyses, and material approval requests, and join HSE walkthroughs.
  • Oversee EPIC contractor piping installation for process and utility systems, covering both aboveground and underground services, in line with approved engineering documents and the project schedule.
  • Attend inspections and witness activities under approved ITPs, including material receiving checks, and sign inspection and test records as needed.
  • Verify workmanship quality, dimensional accuracy, and correct installation of accessories and in-line items according to design specifications.
  • Lead the contractor on mechanical execution matters related to piping works.
  • Supervise line checks, punch-list clearing, hydrotesting, and reinstatement activities at site.
  • Manage final mechanical completion inspections and punch closure.
  • Oversee pre-commissioning activities to protect safety and quality.
  • Take part in technical integrity reviews, HSE audits, process safety management, and PSSR activities.
  • Support operations during pre-startup and startup activities when assigned.
  • Coordinate contractor mobilization to site.
  • Perform daily verification of contractor manpower and previous-day work progress to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, isometrics, piping standard drawings, support drawings, and equipment layout drawings.
  • Maintain a daily progress log and document unusual events, deviations, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Sign work permits on behalf of the company and monitor contractor adherence to permit requirements.
  • Contribute to as-built drawing and documentation development.
  • Inspect work in progress, flag issues, and help prevent incidents by enforcing company safety standards at the worksite.
  • Coordinate with the QA/QC Inspector on all quality-related matters.
